“Sex” studio recording by Motley Crue
After a recent interview at the NAMM convention in California, some interesting news surfaced about Nikki Sixx and legends Motley Crue. Bassist Nikki Sixx announced that the band is currently working on a full-length album. Between “The Heroin Diaries” going Broadway, Sixx’s recent engagement to Courtney Bingham and possibly the band’s last album, 2013 is shaping up to be a huge year for the rockstar.
New Motley Crue Album Coming
When asked recently about Motley Crue’s next album, Sixx was certainly in a giving mood. Letting all facebook fans know not only the first track but that it is going to be the best Crue album yet.
Pretty exciting news, but take it with a grain of salt.
More often than not, a musician will say their upcoming album is their groups ‘best yet’.
After all, who would want to buy an album a band mate promoted as ‘one of our more mediocre albums, for sure’? I know I wouldn’t, would you?
Some of us remember Motley Crue’s recent tour with Kiss where the band debuted their new single, “Sex”; the first track on the new CD.
Bassist Nikki Sixx Talks “The Heroin Diaries”… On Broadway?
Additionally, the long time bassist and party animal also let us know recently that his memoir “The Heroin Diaries” is being turned into a Broadway production. Honestly, I’m extremely interested in how this ends up turning out.
The Heroin Diaries was a very, interesting book, to say the least. Then putting such a thing to broadway has to be worth seeing. I wonder if they will have back up, a capella style, singers for it. I haven’t seen many Broadway productions,
I’ve just been listening to a fair amount of a capella and think that’d be really interesting. I digress…
Have you read “The Heroin Diaries”? If so, what did you think, and would you be willing to go and see a Broadway version of it? Keeping in mind a ticket to a broadway show would be about as much money as a ticket to a Motley Crue concert. The news of this show coming from Sixx’s twitter profile:
What do you guys think? I used to love Motley Crue and still believe that learning some of their guitar riffs can really do wonders for your rhythm guitar playing. Do you like the style of the new song “Sex”? Leave any thoughts, questions or comments you have below.
